The members of The Urban Upward Mobility Initiative were founded by individuals, who
through their professional’s capacity, would come in contact with individuals from varies
backgrounds who seemed not prepared for a world of economics that would move them
from poverty to the middle class or beyond. The members of The Urban Upward Mobility
Initiative noticed that a lack of education, pertaining to the basic of finance, was one of
the causes that prevented many from rising above the poverty level thus living from
paycheck to paycheck. The experience gotten from this exposure led the members of
The Urban Upward Mobility Initiative to arrive at the opinion that with the right education, the
situation of many could be greatly improved with the right education. With that
knowledge, the Urban Upward Mobility Initiative was founded.
The members of The Urban Upward Mobility Initiative identified three areas that would be a
great help in changing the life situation of many whom they serviced daily. The areas
identified were:
